Threatened nghĩa là gì?
Threatened /ˈθret.ən/: Đe dọa
“Threatened” là dạng quá khứ phân từ (P2) của động từ “threaten, được sử dụng như một tính từ để mô tả một tình huống hay hành động mang tính đe dọa hoặc khiến người khác cảm thấy bị đe dọa.
Ví dụ:
- He threatened to call the police if the man didn’t leave his property immediately.
- The doctor threatened to hospitalize the patient if he didn’t start taking his medication as prescribed.

S + Threatened + (to/by/with) + [người/gì]
Cách dùng: Nếu muốn chỉ rõ người hoặc vật gây ra mối đe dọa.
Ví dụ:
- The child felt threatened by the big dog. (Đứa trẻ cảm thấy bị đe dọa bởi con chó to.)
- The company was threatened with legal action. (Công ty bị đe dọa với hành động pháp lý.)
Giới từ đi với threatened
Như cấu trúc ở trên, threatened thường đi với 3 giới từ phổ biến là to, by và with với ý nghĩa như sau:
- Threaten + to: để diễn tả chỉ đối tượng bị đe dọa.
Ví dụ: “He threatened to harm me.” (Anh ta đe dọa sẽ gây hại cho tôi.)
- Threaten + with(hoặc to): để diễn tả việc đe dọa hoặc uy hiếp.
Ví dụ: He threatened her with a knife. (Anh ta đã đe dọa cô ấy bằng một con dao.)
- Threatened + by: dùng trong câu bị động, diễn tả việc bị ai đó đe dọa.
Ví dụ: The workers were threatened by their employer. (Các công nhân bị đe dọa bởi nhà tuyển dụng của họ.)

Cách sử dụng threatened
Threatened trong câu bình thường
Trong những câu giao tiếp thông thường threatened dùng để nói đến việc đe dọa.
Ví dụ:
- The man threatened to harm his ex-girlfriend if she didn’t get back together with him. (Đàn ông đe dọa sẽ gây hại cho bạn gái cũ của mình nếu cô không quay lại với anh ta.)
- The company was threatened with legal action if they didn’t improve their working conditions.
Threatened trong câu tường thuật
Threatened thường xuất hiện trong câu tường thuật để kể về việc ai đó đe dọa hoặc bị đe dọa. Khi dùng “threaten” trong câu tường thuật, bạn có thể sử dụng thêm các động từ như “said”, “told”, “warned”, “promised”,… để chỉ ra người nói đã đưa ra lời đe dọa.
Ví dụ:
- She said that she felt threatened by his behavior. (Cô ấy nói rằng cô ấy cảm thấy bị đe dọa bởi hành vi của anh ta.)
- The victim told the police that the attacker had threatened him with a knife. (Nạn nhân cho biết với cảnh sát rằng kẻ tấn công đã đe dọa anh ta bằng một con dao.)
- The government warned that the new law could threaten the country’s economy. (Chính phủ cảnh báo rằng luật mới có thể đe dọa nền kinh tế của đất nước.)

- He reminded his wife to take her medicine.

- The coach encouraged his players to keep practicing hard.
- The mentor encouraged her mentee to pursue her dreams.
- Tường thuật một lời nài nỉ: “begged/implored sb to do sth”
- She begged her parents to let her go on the trip.
- He implored the judge to give him a lighter sentence.
- Tường thuật một lời tự nguyện: “offered to do sth”
- She offered to help her neighbor with the gardening.
- He offered to pay for dinner for his friends.
- Tường thuật một lời đồng ý: “agree to do sth”
- The contractor agreed to finish the project by the deadline.
- The student agreed to submit the report before the due date.
Một số thành ngữ sử dụng threatened
