Talk about transportation – Part 1
Do you frequently utilize public transportation?
You know, I often steer clear of using mass transit because it is so poor in quality in Vietnam. I have only used the bus about five times in my life because, in my opinion, they are not very dependable and frequently arrive 10 minutes late, if not more. I’m hoping that the government would improve the standards for public transportation because I don’t see myself boarding a bus anytime soon.
Should people take the bus or train more often? Why?
In my perspective, it is imperative that residents switch from using private vehicles to using public transit, mainly due to the population growth rate. It appears that the amount of exhaust generated from vehicles and motorcycles considerably contributes to air pollution and global warming.
Therefore, promoting the usage of public transit can assist reduce the level of greenhouse gases, perhaps lowering health issues.
Do you think people in your country prefer public transport?
I believe that depends on the cause. Some people commute by bus frequently because the route is convenient for their daily travel requirements and they support public transportation services.
However, there are those who strongly oppose using mass transit due to a number of reasons, from its poor standards to security to inconvenience.
Which form of public transit do you typically use?
I’ll be fully honest with you; I don’t use public transportation all that much. So, as you might have guessed, I seldom ever use them for commuting.
But on occasion, I will take a bus to destinations distant from my home to avoid the trouble of driving and to take a little nap.

Do most people prefer public transportation in your country?
I’d say no, though. In Vietnam, people tend to favor their private vehicles more. This is merely a result of Vietnam’s still-poor public transportation system. And by this I mean that they lack free wifi and comfortable seats.
This is made worse by the fact that using public transportation can often be significantly slower than using a private vehicle. I’m talking about the freedom to travel whenever and anywhere you want when using a private automobile.
So yes, I would argue that many Vietnamese people do not favor things like buses and railroads.
Did you take public transportation when you were a kid?
I’d reply “no.” There wasn’t a mass transit system in Ninh Binh when I was growing up because it was a little underdeveloped at the time. So, the only information I had about the ‘public transportation’ came from the media.
Back then, I even daydreamed about taking a bus or a train to get somewhere, but I didn’t get my first bus or anything experience until I moved to Hanoi to attend university.
Will there be more people taking public transportation in the future?
It’s difficult to forecast whether public transportation will be used more in the future based on how it is currently used. But to be completely honest, I wish more people would use metro transit.
Public transportation, in my opinion, is the only method to stop global warming and environmental damage since the Earth is warming and getting more and more uninhabitable.
Talk about transportation – Part 2
Talk about transportation: Describe a popular mode of public transportation in your country. You should say:
- What it is
- What types of people use it often
- How far it is convenient
- And explain why it is so popular
In our nation, the majority of commuters in cities and urban areas use the public bus as their primary mode of transportation. In our nation, there are two different kinds of public bus systems: short-distance buses and long-distance buses.
There are numerous government-owned bus transportation systems, which are primarily found in urban areas. These buses come in a range of sizes, from those with 10 seats to those with 100 seats and even double-decker buses.
These buses are used by people from all social and economic backgrounds, and those without own vehicles do so the majority of the time. Since there are cheap and expensive buses based on the facilities allowed, people with low earnings mostly use non-AC, small buses. While people with better economic conditions use air-conditioned and a bit expensive service.
When it comes to costs and accessibility, this is the most convenient transit system in our nation. Taxis and private cars can be expensive to hire and are not always accessible. Therefore, the majority of people rely on the public bus transit system, which has almost universal availability and has a very modest fare.
This bus transit system is particularly convenient for both short- and long-distance trips, as well as communications. Although this transportation system has its drawbacks, in my opinion it is still the finest way for commuters to get around my city.

Talk about transportation – Part 3
How can more people be persuaded to use public transportation?
Although I don’t think it’s simple to have individuals commute using public transit rather than their private vehicle, there are still ways to do that. The first issue that comes to mind is the need for more public transportation options with higher-caliber services.
Additionally, it is the duty of the government to educate the populace about the value of environmental protection by simple actions like using public transportation. People can therefore see the significant advantages of using public transportation.
How do you envision future travel for people?
I’ll be both pragmatic and innovative in my response to that intriguing question. In the near future, I think people will prefer to travel vast distances on airplanes and swift trains, and airfares will drop to draw in more travelers. We would depend more than ever on our cars to go around the city, and they would be our daily companion.
Our cars would be able to operate on rivers and even fly short distances in 30 or 40 years, much like a science fiction vehicle. We’ll have flying automobiles that will transport us to our offices in about 50 years, and software, not people, will operate those vehicles.
After a century, we will have personal SkyTran pods that would travel via the air rather than a road. Who knows, in a few centuries, we could even be able to teleport from our home to anywhere we need to go!
Which mode of transportation do you believe to be the safest? Why?
Despite certain widespread beliefs, I think flying is the safest mode of transportation. We frequently fly domestically and internationally, and the service is really top-notch. Many people lose their lives in aviation accidents, which often generate headlines and convey the idea that flying is harmless.
However, it is clear that air travel is the safest if we contrast air fatalities with those from car accidents. In my country, flying is the safest mode of transportation since flights are well-organized and air traffic is managed more effectively by skilled specialists.

Should a nation’s government prioritize road or rail transportation more? Why?
In my opinion, the choice should be made based on the country’s geological conditions, current infrastructure, population, and economic state. For instance, building rail tracks in a nation with a lot of rivers and mountainous terrain is difficult and expensive.
Connecting highways and road transportation are more viable and economical for these nations. Additionally, if the nation doesn’t already have enough train tracks, it should concentrate on building and improving roads rather than rails.
Finally, because railroads can move a large number of people at once, nations with a bigger population should think about developing their railroad systems. Thus, a decision regarding whether to fund rail or road transit should be taken.
