- Live out of a suitcase: Liên tục di chuyển từ địa điểm này qua địa điểm khác.
- Off track or off the beaten path: Lạc đường, đi nhầm đường
- One for the road: Ăn uống thêm một chút gì đó trước khi khởi hành.
- Pedal to the metal: Thúc giục, tăng tốc.
- Pit stop: Dừng xe lại để đổ xăng, ăn nhẹ, giải khát, đi vệ sinh…
- Red-eye flight: Các chuyến bay khởi hành rất muộn vào ban đêm.
- Running on fumes: Di chuyển hoặc đi lại với rất ít xăng còn lại ở trong bình.
- Sunday driver: Người tài xế thường hay lái xe chậm, lòng vòng và bắt khách dạo.
- Travel light: Du lịch gọn nhẹ (tức là không mang quá nhiều đồ, chỉ mang những thứ cần thiết)
- Watch your back: Cẩn thận và chú ý tới những người xung quanh.
- Abroad: Đi nước ngoài
- To the seaside: Nghỉ ngoài biển
- To the mountains: Đi lên núi
- To the country: Xung quanh thành phố
- Camping: Đi cắm trại
- On a walking holiday: Kỳ nghỉ đi bộ

Last summer, my family and I had a vacation in Dalat in order to escape the burning days in Ho Chi Minh city. Instead of traveling by plane, we chose to travel by bus to enjoy the scenery along the way.
Dalat is a city of fog, so everything was covered in a thick layer of mist when we arrived there at a very early time in the morning. After checking in at the hotel, we spent time visiting Bao Dai Palace – a very famous structure that tourists should not miss when coming to Dalat. This is the place where King Bao Dai – the last king of the Nguyen Dynasty spent a part of his life together with his family. It was built in a classical European style with skilful details.
In the afternoon, we visited Dalat Flower Garden, the place that gathered many different kinds of beautiful flowers from all over the world. We took several pictures there, and I heard that this place would be even prettier in the Flower Festival.
In the evening, we went out to the night market to enjoy some featuring foods of Dalat and enjoy the fresh air. It was getting cold as the night approached, and I had to wear an extra T shirt right in the middle of summer.
On the next day, we visited Mount Lang biang. That mountain carried a sad story of a pair of lovers who could not have a happy ending. When the girl Biang and her lover Lang were forced to leave each other, they killed themselves so they could stay together forever. We ended the trip by going around the city one last time. 3 days were not enough to explore Dalat, and I am sure that I will come back here next summer.

Dalat or Da Lat is the capital city of Lam Dong province in Vietnam. It is also known as the City of Flowers and honeymooners with lovely French villas, the fresh air, the beautiful waterfalls and gorgeous lakes.
Da Lat sits approx. 1500 m above sea level on the Lang Biang Plateau and is surrounded by lovely mountains. This city was discovered by a Swiss man with French nationality, Alexandre Yersin in 1983. Today, coming to Dalat, visitors will feel a very poetic, magnificent French architecture.
Due to the year-round cool weather, visitors to Dalat can do both visiting and enjoying specialties including a variety of fruits. The beauty of Dalat is also praised and attractes visitors by hundreds, thousands of unique flowers, orchids. Every 2 years, The National Flower Festival is held in this city with many participants from all over the world. Dalat is a perfect destination if you want to have a peaceful vacation.
The hill town of Da Lat has long been the most popular location in the region for getaway holidays. Many people call it ‘Le Petit Paris’ and the town even features a mini-replica Eiffel Tower in its centre!
This retreat town offers a good change of atmosphere with a refreshingly cool climate. There are many beautiful homestays and hotels there with the French architecture. I used to book one and I was totally satisfied with my time in Dalat.
During my vacation, I often wandered around and contemplated this lovely city. Da Lat is famous for its wide variety of flowers, vegetables and fruits as well as its beautiful landscape, evergreen forests and minority villages. I also visited the Puppy Farm, where many cute dogs live happily together.
If one day you come to Vietnam, don’t forget to visit this beautiful and romantic city – Dalat.

Last year, my family spent a week of the summer in Dalat, and it was the best summer week I have ever had. The hill town of Da Lat has long been the most popular location in the region for getaway holidays since French colonial times. Nowadays, Dalat has developed and changed a lot.
However, I could still feel the fresh air and the peaceful ambiance in Dalat. We arrived at Dalat in the late afternoon. I was totally impressed by the sunset of Dalat. Watching the sun gradually going down from one side of the Ho Xuan Huong lake was breathtaking.
At night, we ate beef hotpot which was a specialty here. It was so tasty and the price was also much cheaper than where I live. After that, my family visited the Night Market to eat various foods and fruits. I had a chance to taste “Banh trang nuong” and it was awesome, a perfect food for a cool night.
On the next few days, we visited different tourist attractions such as the Love Valley, the Pongour waterfall,… There were many tourists also coming there. In Dalat, we can enjoy the 4 seasons in just one day, that is amazing. Perhaps, I will visit Dalat again this summer!
